Our Top 5 Summer Cleaning Tips

Our Top 5 Summer Cleaning Tips

Today is officially the first day of Summer 2024 and we thought this would be the perfect time to give you our top five summer cleaning tips. If your Spring clean didn’t go to plan, that’s okay! We are here to help you get organised this Summer, with our super easy and quick tips. As the weather gets warmer and the nights are officially light again, we want our garden and homes to be looking spotless, to ensure we have one less thing to worry about this Summer. So let’s get started…

  1. Plan Ahead

The first and most crucial step is to plan ahead with your summer organisation. Make a list of all of the items you need to help you get started. Maybe you need some new cleaning products, a hoover, a duster, some heavy-duty shelving or even a new mop? By having these purchased before you begin, it’ll make your organisation so much easier.

Begin to plan which rooms you will begin in and how long you want to spend in each room. Organisation is a process and doesn’t need to be rushed or done within one day. Spread out your clear out across a few weeks and don’t be afraid to ask for help too.

  1. Have a huge clear out

You heard us right, it’s time to have a huge declutter and get rid of any unwanted or unused items that are taken up too much space in your house. This can be one of the most daunting tasks when having a huge clear out, but it is one of the most important. Your home and garage may look 10x messier when you have so much unwanted and unused items.

Decluttering can be so easy when you plan. Our top tip is to split your items into three piles: keep, bin and give to charity. Grab your plastic bin bags/charity bags and begin to place your items into these piles. If you have not used an item in over a year, it may be a sign that you need to get rid of it, but any items still in good condition should go to charity!

  1. Purchase some good shelving

Some good heavy-duty shelving can make your summer clean 10x easier and make your home, garage or garden look immaculate. Finding the right shelving racks for you can seem quite difficult, but here at Rhino we have a huge range to suit all of your needs. From wide and deep garage shelving to slimline storage shelves perfect for your home and cupboards. We offer a range of sizes, that all hold 200kg of weight per shelf (meaning even your heaviest items can be stored away safely), as well as a range of colours (black, blue and galvanised) to suit whatever aesthetic your home may be.

Your garage may be one of the messiest areas of your home, and here at Rhino we want to change this. Our garage shelving is perfect for storing away your items neatly, making it easy to navigate your way around your garage. It’s time to store away your Christmas decorations neatly on your new racking and reach for your gardening tools this Summer. Storage has never been easier with Rhino.

  1. Begin to deep clean

To ensure your home and garage stays organised over the summer, it is important to have a huge deep clean (meaning you will only need to do little bits of cleaning throughout the summer). Grab your favourite dusting flannel and scrubber and begin to deeply clean each room. From dusting all of your windowsills, to hoovering every inch of the floor, make sure you take your time, and your home looks spotless by the end.

This step should feel easier once you have decluttered, as you have more room to clean everything. This step can be made more fun if you have a helping hand with you.

  1. Treat your home

In order to maintain a clean and tidy home, make sure you set aside some time at least once or twice a month to have a clean over each room (this clean should feel a lot easier). Make sure to purchase some nice new bedding, candles or ornaments to place around your home to give it a nice fresh feeling. A top tip would be to purchase regular air fresheners to keep your home feeling fresh all the way through the summer months.

Your home should now be looking extremely fresh and tidy, and you should feel ready for the summer months ahead, whatever you may be doing. So what’s stopping you? Get organised today with the help of Rhino.
